OBJECTIVE :  Our team was hired to create a new office space for TOMS in an existing building located in Castleberry Hill Historic District. With approximately 82 employees, the company needs this space to accommodate seven different teams with the ability to collaborate. The community that surrounds this location is up and coming and offers a wide variety of artistic influences; creating a cohesive environment is important for their growth and outreach. This location will focus on design collaboration and TOMS charitable mission.

PROCESS:  When creating this space for TOMS, our team focused on creating an environment that was able to be utilized by the employees but also double as a space that could hold community events and be a platform for outreach in the Castleberry Hill Historic District. Through the use of flexible seating, collaborative areas, biophilia, views to daylight, and pops of vibrant colors throughout the office; this space will be ideal for any employee who inhabits this space. A major feature of this building and our design was connecting the first and second floor, our team chose to incorporate a slide that went through the center of the staircase for an added feature that we thought embodied the work environment that TOMS strives for.

RESULT: Utilizing reclaimed wood for feature walls created a warmth to the space; combining a wood canopy with flooring transitions offers sound control and creates zones throughout the office. Through the use of a variety of seating options, views to daylight, and a live wall we created an environment that will aid to creativity,

collaboration, and community outreach.
